Backstory: A Founder’s Story

RevFunnel started in 2016.

Leading up to that point, I had been a long-time performance marketer.

I worked for 7 years at a 200+ person digital agency which at one point was the largest independent SEM/SEO agency in the US. One story I often tell for credibility: when one of the board members had a marketing problem and approached the agency CEO to know who “the best paid search person” on staff was, I was the one identified – and ended up leading their account, a division of Dun & Bradstreet.

I left the agency for a SaaS technology company where as the head of marketing, I grew the company revenue from $62M to $220M in 5 years on the backs of driving digital lead generation performance through to sales closes – then managing the team through a successful PE-backed exit to a Fortune 150 acquirer.

At that point, I found myself doing more M&A and product strategy but wanted to spend more time with my biggest strengths in working with sales and marketing on digital and lead generation…and wanted to start my own company. I made a deal with the CEO to stay on the executive team until they found my replacement (which took 5 months). In the mean time, I started RevFunnel with my current company as my first client.

Flash forward to today and the RevFunnel team is made up of the best-of-the-best in subject-matter experts working with lead generation CEOs, CMOs and product/marketing/sales leaders to drive revenue growth. Our clients range from $1M to $400M revenue businesses with projects/retainer relationships that range from growth strategy to directly doing the detailed work to bring impact statements to reality. Many of our clients have seen successful exits from PE exits (even over $1B) to public exits with successful IPOs.

Our process is detailed, heavily data-driven and works… and is changing all the time to pace the rate-of-change determining the strategies and tactics today that over-perform in competitive verticals.
